Compare what NFL defenses allow to quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers and tight ends. Raiders allow the most rushing yards to running backs among this week’s teams, at 124.9 per game.
Defense vs position shows what a defense has allowed to opposing quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers and tight ends. These are totals for the entire opposing position group per team game, rather than an average for one player.
How are the NFL defensive rankings calculated?
We total the recorded stats for each opposing position in each game, then average those totals over the selected window. Each defense is ranked against the other teams with complete data for that position and stat. Positions use current player listings; fullbacks are grouped with running backs.
Does #1 mean a tough or soft matchup?
Rank #1 means the fewest of the selected stat; the highest rank means the most. Red indicates fewer allowed and green indicates more, which is useful context for an Over. Reverse that interpretation when researching an Under. Interceptions forced describe quarterback interceptions against that defense, rather than overall defensive weakness.
How can I use this for NFL player props?
Start with the opponent's allowed stats for the player's position, then check the player's role, workload, recent results and posted line. Open a player to research the matching prop. A favorable defensive rank is historical context, not a projection or a pick.
Which games are included in these rankings?
This sheet uses available recorded games from the displayed NFL season. When no new slate is posted, the latest slate and its season statistics stay available. Stored lines and recorded participants stay visible for past matchups. If neither is available, players from the team's latest recorded game appear as Recent lineup; their participation in the displayed matchup is unconfirmed. Each defense can have a different game count because of bye weeks and data availability. Read the recorded game count alongside each average and rank, especially early in the season.
Why might a defense or stat be unavailable?
Missing position or game data is left unavailable instead of being counted as zero. Rankings require coverage for at least 80% of the teams in the comparison. Fantasy points and advanced tracking metrics are not included in these raw-stat rankings.
